The national government and public servants insurance cover cannot be accounted for after emerging that the cash allocated for the same cannot be traced.

The unseen amount recorded at National treasury of Sh 150 billion allocated by the National Treasury as insurance cover for public servants reeks of a scandal.

Whereas the government has been allocating Sh15 billion annually to the self-insurance fund under Group Personal Accident (GPA) policy and Work Injury Benefits Act for public servants for the past 10 years, those entitled to benefits from the scheme are yet to get a penny in compensation.

Acting CS Treasury Ukur Yattani claims the billions were released from the treasury as the accounts started. The statements were also shared in the investigative department to unfold the matter.
