Nakuru wants to become the fourth city in Kenya after Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.
Devolution officials, Senate devolution committee and other stakeholders visit Nakuru town to establish the true status of the town before being approved and upgraded the town to City status.
Things that can enable a town to be a city must have 250, 000 people and above, Fire station, Status of garbage collection, International airport, Transport system and finance.
The devolution committee visited the town to confirm the tabled report from the county government of Nakuru. The devolution committee said the town has reached 70 % of the said status list according to the city laws.
