South Africa has Africa's largest train manufacturing plant. It is owned by Alstom Gibela's joint venture.
The plant produces a fleet of 580 six-car X’Trapolis Mega commuter trains for the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) in the next 10 years.
