Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa freed on Ksh.4M cash bail, or a surety of the same after spending half a week in the police cells.
Her bodyguard, Geoffrey Otieno also freed on a Ksh.1M cash bail or a surety of the same cash.
The legislator and her bodyguard appeared before a Mombasa court on Friday to answer murder charges.
The duo is involved on Ngumbao Jola’s death during the Ganda Ward by-elections last year.
Earlier on Thursday, the MP and her bodyguard slipped to take plea in the murder case over a medical report mix-up.
The two had appeared before High Court Judge Njoki Mwangi.
During the sitting, Judge Mwangi challenged the validity of MP Jumwa’s report as it bore the signature of a psychiatrist not acknowledged in the court.
