Social Media in Tanzania was interrupted on the eve of the election. Tanzania Government is alleged to have suspended social media coverage in some area of the East African country.
There was a widespread disruption to social media registered across #Tanzania on eve of elections as confirmed by Tech agencies.
The interruption had a high impact on Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram and Google services on Vodacom, Airtel, Tigo, Halotel and Zantel.
Although the events reduced indefinitely after the elections, the government went on silently.
The opposition has criticised the state over meddling with the affairs of the electoral commission.
