CBK declares the end of free Sh 1000 and below transfer money subscribers ahead of 2021 tough times.
On a statement made on Thursday, December 17, CBK announces that the waiver will come to an end on December 31, 2020.
In a press statement, the regulator adds that only Ksh100 and below to continue being in the free tariff.
" Expiry of Emergency Measures to Facilitate Mobile Money Transactions and the Introduction of Principles to Guide Pricing, " CBK said.
“To facilitate the integration of Savings and Credit Societies (SACCOs) with the mobile money ecosystem, SACCOs regulated by the SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) may levy a charge for transfers between SACCO accounts and mobile money wallets,” said CBK in their Thursday statement.
