Mwea prison Warder, Constable Kering Kipkosgei shot himself on the head after killing an Administration Police (AP) Corporal at Mwea GK Prisons senior staff quarters on Sunday night in a Love triangle.
The prison Warder, Constable Kering Kipkosgei, visited the house of his girlfriend, Sergeant Esther Muthoni Mwangi.
As they were having supper, AP Corporal Boniface Mithamo Ngaragari, who is the former husband to Sgt Muthoni stormed the house.
The AP commanded his ex-wife to know what the warder was doing in the house.
The AP officer Corporal Boniface Mithamo Ngaragari is from the AP’s Critical Infrastructure Police Unit (CIPU) in Kianyaga.
They started fighting, and the female partner managed to separate them and escorted Corporal Mithamo out of the house.
The prison warder then picked his firearm, shoot the AP officer in the neck.
“After realising that he had fatally shot the AP officer, he ran outside and shot himself on the head,” Mwea East Sub-County Commander said.
The bodies have been taken to Karira Mission Hospital mortuary.
