Another high school student arrested in Nyamira County after a brutal attempt to chop his deputy principal head with a machete on Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at Mokwerero Secondary School in Kitutu Masaba Constituency.
The student was arrested within the school compound while armed with a machete and a sharpening file.
The teachers delivered their deputy principal from the hands of the armed student before Police officers arrived.
According to the Police report filed in Nyamira, the Form Two student, 18, rushed to the Deputy Principal Jared Morara office and attempted to kill him using a newly sharpened panga.
However, the Deputy principal raised an alarmed by shouting for help, members of the support staff and other teachers went to his rescue.
Kennedy Ogecha, the school principal, said that police already have taken over the matter.
“The police are currently investigating the matter, and the student is in Police custody,” he said.
